Hey, I’m Krysta and I am the newbie here in the office.
Currently I am a Director of Parish Services Intern here at Bethel but I hope
that on November 30th, 2011 I can drop the Intern off the end of
that title. Originally hailing from small town Alberta, I moved to Edmonton in
2005 to study at Concordia University. I am finishing up the very last portion
of a studies with my internship and am so grateful to be learning from the
staff and congregation here at Bethel.
When I began my internship, I moved into the McCauley area of Edmonton to be a part of Bethel’s ministry that is happening there. Seen as I am from a small town, moving down into the inner city was slightly terrifying but God changed my heart and I now love where I live and the people there too. It is amazing to be taken so far from normal and being made to feel completely comfortable.
If someone were to ask me where I am from I would typically start by saying Lloydminster. If you know where that is I would say Kitscoty. If you know where that is I would give you the real answer which is Blackfoot. It is a small town that you blink and miss it but let’s just say it is close enough to the Saskatchewan border that I cheer for the Roughrider. I also married a Saskatchewan farm boy, Aaron, which means there is no choice in who we cheer for. Our down time consists of biking, camping, spending time at the farm and trying to train our dog Toby. We also love exploring the crazy restaurants that are in our area of town.
God blessed Aaron and me so much by connecting us with Bethel. We have the opportunity to be a part of a vibrant community here in Sherwood Park. I also am able to connect with a community where the love of Jesus is sought out and being shared outside and inside the walls of the church. What a great place this is to learn and grow.
