What Happens in Grace Land?
Kindergarten to Grade 4
Small Group Warm-up: (15 minutes)
The small group time consists of a learning readiness activity that warms the children to one another and helps guests feel at ease.
It may involve an interactive game, the beginning of a craft, or handling some object that will later be used in the lesson.
It not only captures the children's attention, but it helps them share something about themselves that builds relationships and trust among the group.
Large Group: (20-30 minutes)
A large group presenter teaches the Bible event as all the children gather in one room. A variety of engaging and creative ways are used to make the Bible come alive, such as
a costumed character
a game show host
kids presenting a drama or mime
video clips
gospel illusion
interactive storytelling that kids love to see!
In Grace Land, our friends Jordy and Gerdie use humor to set up the question answered in the lesson. Children love and relate to them because they characterize typical grade three children.
Small Group Application: (20-25 minutes)
Children return to their small group to use their Bibles as they process the truth of the Bible event. They discuss life application as they do a craft, role-play, or do other activities.
Practical applications frequently challenge children to share Jesus in some way with their world. Prayer concludes the session as each child has an opportunity to pray for personal needs, intercede for others, or apply the day’s main point.
