Build relationships in small groups
Please check the Event Calendar for exact times and dates of meetings.
Men's Breakfast: Wednesdays 6:30 am
We are a group of men who meet Wednesday mornings at Bethel at 6:30 am for breakfast and a casual devotional time. We take turns bringing breakfast for the group and donate $2.00 - $3.00 at each meeting.
Out of our camaraderie, a couple of church-wide social events have developed that encourage Christian fellowship: the Oktoberfest dinner, program and dance; the annual Golf Tournament and steak barbecue in June and the Lenten Pancake supper preceding Bethel’s Ash Wednesday service.
The monies collected from these events go toward a variety of places, like The Rock Inner Mission Society, Bethel’s Mission-of-the-Month, and hampers for families that are in need.
Recycled Teens
1st Monday of the month, 12:00 noon.
Bethel's seniors are always on the lookout for opportunities to serve. They have supported the Rock Inner-City mission, a school in Nicaragua, youth trips, and many other worthy causes.
In addition to monthly meetings consisting of a pot luck lunch and entertainment or an inspirational speaker, seniors plan sight-seeing trips all across Alberta and beyond.
Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML)
2nd Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.
In 2001, twelve women of Bethel formed
a society and joined the Lutheran Women's
Missionary League (LWML) of Lutheran Church
Canada in order to reach out with the Gospel
of Jesus Christ at home and in their communities.
The society's aims are to promote mission
awareness and participation through support
of mission projects with the Mite Box Ministry
and to foster spiritual growth and personal
development so they may serve others.
Bethel Quilters: Wednesday mornings 9 am to 12:00 noon
Bethel Quilters meet each Wednesday 9:30 until noon. We cut fabric into squares of various sizes. We also layer and pin together quilt tops, backing and batting. Some sewing is done at church but the majority is done at home. Each completed top is brought back to church and tied with yarn.
All sewing is straight-line. We welcome anyone wishing to sew squares together at home to come by any Wednesday and pick up a hand full. We always have plenty on hand.
The quilts are donated to the women’s shelters, Bosco Homes, LAMP (Lutheran Association of Missionaries and Pilots), Terra School and On Eagles Wings.
We accept donations of fabric and yarn as well as money used to purchase batting. We are always in need of gently used sheets. Donations are appreciated.
